The Bharatiya Janata Party is here to Rule!

Guwahati: The poll results of May 23 and the latest poll trends have made one thing very clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party is here to rule and not a single party holds the calibre to give a tough fight to this giant national political party. The huge number of seats occupied by the political party across the nation proves it once again that the party certainly has got something in it to be capable of sweeping away such huge support from the people of the nation.

Apart from winning 303 seats across the nation, in the Northeast region, alone BJP has been able to show outstanding performance. Notably, this time, it contested for 18 out of the total 24 seats in the region and the results tally as of yet shows BJP overpowering its allies. It has been able to win two seats each in Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura and one in Manipur. In Assam, the total number of seats won is 9. This makes the total seats won in the region 14 already and with this, BJP has shown even better performance in comparison to the 2014 Lok Sabha election when BJP had won eight seats across the region.

Immediately after the result trends going in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi expressed his joy and gratitude through the social media. A tweet by the PM reads thus:

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders from Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal and Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma too thanked the people of Assam for their huge support to the political party and promised greater development and prosperity for the state in the coming times.
