The Kohli Feat

Team India’s skipper Virat Kohli rose to the occasion quite brilliantly on Sunday when he became the fastest batsman to score 11,000 one-day international runs, surpassing the record of Sachin Tendulkar. There is an element of grit and sincerity in Kohli on the field. His leadership qualities are remarkable. What is equally good to see is that he keeps consulting former skipper MS Dhoni on the field. His relationship with new and junior players is also laudable. Perhaps what adds to his success as a captain is that he knows which bowler should bowl precisely during the middle overs, such as between the 15th over and the 25th over. He deserves kudos for bringing laurels to the country and for also inspiring aspiring cricketers to play in the right manner by putting the interest of the country first and foremost.
