Theatre festival at Silchar

Silchar, Nov 9: Saraswat, a Silchar based socio cultural organization is all set to organize a 3-day theatre festival at District Library auditorium of this town from November 10. “The iugural session will start from 5.30 in the evening on November 10 which will be followed by staging of two plays, ‘Thikha’ and ‘Shanti’. Former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha, poet and litterateur Dr Tapodhir Bhattacharjee and former Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Dr Bishwatosh Choudhury, head, Department of Bengali, Assam University, Taimur Raja Choudhury, editor, Samayik Prasanga, senior jourlist and poet Atin Das and have been invited for iugurating the event,” said Santanu Sengupta, general secretary of Saraswat, at a press-meet held at Rajiv Bhawan, Silchar, recently.
