Theft cases in city, Kalimandir looted

GUWAHATI, Feb 17: A number of theft incidents took place in various areas in Guwahati, including Hengrabari and Kahilipara, last night. Thieves broke open the dotion box of the Kalimandir at Hengrabari, took the cash and orments from the deity inside the temple in the city last night. Thieves also looted house No. 494, owned by Rohin Konwor. The thieves took away a laptop, a hard disc, three ATM cards, Rs 4,000 cash, some documents of HS and HSLC from room of Dipu Konwar, staying on rent. The bike of one Biju Kalita, staying in the same complex, was also stolen.  Thieves entered Gracian Urn Wine Shop at Kahilipara by removing CI sheets from the roof. Rs 60,000 cash and liquor bottle worth Rs 1.20 lakh were stolen. There was none in the wine shop at night. An FIR has been lodged in this connection. The local people informed the shop owner of the incident this morning. An FIR has been lodged.
