Thieves involved in stealing me plates of martyrs arrested

KOKRAJHAR, Nov. 21: A gang of seven thieves were arrested by Kokrajhar Police from Jaipur area which was allegedly involved in stealing of mes plates of martyrs at Bodoland Martyrs’ Cemetery at Debargaon in Kokrajhar.

 All the me plates made of copper were taken away by the thieves on June 6 from the Bodoland Movement Martyrs’ Cemetery at Debargaon. As per FIR lodged by BTC administration, the police was investigating the matter and filly the police was able to arrest the gang of thieves. The seven gangs were identified as Hazrat Ali, Mainul Hoque, Hasam Ali, Majar Ali, Haideal Ali and Jail Ali. Sources said that they were from outside Kokrajhar and had been living at Jaipur in Kokrajhar. Further investigation is still on and the remaining thieves are absconding.

 Built on a 45-bigha plot of land at Debargaon, the Rs. 5-crore project was implemented by the tourism department of BTC and executed by PWD (buildings). The cemetery was iugurated by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary in 2013 on the occasion of the 11th Bodoland Day celebration.
