Thong Iong Nga to hit screens on Nov 24

SHILLONG, Nov 21: Good news for cine lovers! The first ever Khasi musical film titled Thong Iong Nga is scheduled to hit the screens on Friday. This was stated by director of the film Simi Khongtiang at a press conference in the city on Tuesday.

While giving an overview of the film, she said the film is being shot in both Khasi and Jaintia hills.

When asked about the expenditure on the film, she said, “We have invested around Rs 16 lakh in the film.”

It may be mentioned that Khongtiang has produced around 15 Khasi films since 2007.

She further said that she had not received any fincial assistance from the State government in making the film.

According to her, Youtube has greatly helped the Khasi film industry, especially when it comes to promoting films and songs.

“We will be releasing this film on November 24 for a period of one week. But if we receive a positive response from the public, we will extend the screening by another week,” she said.
