Three bbed for extortion

Shillong, Jan 10: Meghalaya police have arrested three persons for extorting money in the me of the Garo tiol Liberation Army (GNLA). According to police, one Saupan Saha of Dhupdhara, Assam lodged a complaint on December 15, 2016 he received one anonymous SMS in which the sender claiming to be a GNLA cadre demanded Rs. 1,50,000. Out of fear, the complaint paid Rs 30,000. In this connection, police arrested three persons identified as Tengkrang M Sangma, Sanjal Khan M Sangma and Kinseng R Marak.
