Three Biopics in the Pipeline on Late J. Jayalalithaa

Three biopics on Tamilnadu’s much loved political leader, late J. Jayalalithaa’s life and achievements are in the making. The late political leader was fondly called as ‘amma’ by her thousands of followers in the state. It is to be mentioned here that the former politician was also a popular actor before she entered politics. Of the three biopics, the first is being announced by Vibri Media and the look of the project is expected to be unveiled on February 24.

Producer Vishnu Vardhan Indur, speaking about the biopic, said, “We at Vibri have a vision of telling real stories and director Vijay is overseeing the pre-production work of the film himself as per our vision.” He also said that the biopic will be made in three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in order to reach larger audiences throughout the country and across.

Following this announcement of the biopic, director Priyadharshini, announced that she is also making a biopic on the late AIADMK leader. She also mentioned that the work on the project has already started, but the formal filming will commence only from February 24 which is late Jayalalithaa’s birthday.

The third and final biopic’s announcement came only after a few days when veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja announced the name of the forthcoming biopic. He said that the biopic will be titled ‘Amma: Puratchi Thalaivi’. Regarding the casts of the biopic, this is being rumoured that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Shetty are in talks to play the lead role, although nobody is final yet. Adithya Bharadwaj is to produce the biopic and the shoot for the film is expected to begin tentatively by December.
