Three-day Bihu programme concludes

LBARI, May 10:  The three –day 45th lbari Bihu programme organized at Gardan School play ground here concluded successfully recently. The prgramme started with the hoisting of flag by Hemendra Dutta, president of Bihu celebration committee. lbari Students Union president Himan Barman offered Swahid Tarpan.

Late Makunda Mohan Talukdar and Dwinjen Deka memorial Mukoli Bihu prograsmme was iugurated by Hemen Choufhury, general secretary of lbari District Workman Union. Educationist Deepmoni Bhagawati attended as chief guest in the programme. A total of 14 bihu husori troupe performed bihu in the programme. AS quiz competition was held in the second day of the programme. Social activist Mriduljyoti Deka iugurated the quiz competition.

The souvenir published on the occasion was released by Akshay Kalita, Principal of Assam Engineering Institute. Writer Basistha Goswami and Professor Phani Deka were also present in the event. Pankaj Mahanta and Pradip Barman memorial cultural evening was iugurated by social activist Nripal Barman. Physician Kameswar Lahkar and lbari Zila Parishad member Ritamoni Deka were also present in the event. Local artistes performed in the cultural evening. On the third day of the programme, former AASU leader Samiran Baishya iugurated the cultural night. Actor Jatin Bora and Nishita Goswami were also present in the cultural evening. The audiences were enthralled by the melodious songs of popular singer Subasha Dutta.
