Three Drown to Death in The Darika River at Simaluguri, Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: The recent devastating flood claimed three lives in Sivasagar district. As per reports, two persons drowned in the Darika River at Simaluguri on August 2. Lila Dutta (72) suddenly fell into the Darika river near Lunpuria Ghat at Simaluguri under Nazira subdivision and drowned to death. Lila’s nephew Bipin Dutta also drowned while trying to rescue his uncle. Sivasagar SDRF recovered both the bodies on Saturday and Simaluguri Police sent the bodies for post mortem to Joysagar Civil Hospital. Meanwhile, another person also drowned in the Desang river near Rajabari. Sivasagar SDRF were searching for the body till filing of this report.
