Three new cabinet ministers sworn-in

From our correspondent

Itagar, October 17:  Aruchal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa on Friday administered oath of office and secrecy to the three new cabinet ministers at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhawan here. The new ministers are Jomde Ke, Phurpa Tsering and Tirong Aboh. Prior to their induction Jomde Ke held the portfolio of the parliamentary secretary Transport, STS and Cooperation, Phurpa Tsering PS Hydropower, and Tirong Aboh PS DoTCL, Supply and Transport. Chief minister bam Tuki today said that five cabinet ministers have been dropped from the state cabinet and the induction of the other two ministers will be decided in an “appropriate time.” “The reason for dropping them is best known to you. They were not attending the office for the last one month and they were not performing their duties. People want services and development in the state. They have lost the confidence of the people and the leaders,” Tuki said.

On being asked why he was the chosen one, Jomde Ke said it is the CM’s prerogative and that he has performed his duties well as a parliamentary secretary. “I was earlier deputy speaker and also have been elected by the people as MLA for the third time, which is why I may have been chosen”. Earlier, five ministers were dropped from the state cabinet that included Thangwang Wangham (Civil Aviation, Supply & Transport), Chow Mein (Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development), Kumar Waii (Panchayati Raj and Cooperation), Kamlung Mossang (Food & Civil Supplies, Geology & Mines and WRD) and Wanglin Lowangdong (Women & Child Development, Social Justice Empowerment etc). Meanwhile, the Aruchal unit of tiolist Congress Party (NCP) has congratulated the newly inducted council of ministers. In a press release, Aruchal unit NCP president and vice president, Gicho Kabak and Nima Sange congratulated Jomde Ke, Phurpa Tsering, and Tirong Aboh on being inducted in the Congress led government.

The party has extended its full support to the bam Tuki led government for smooth functioning and for all round development in the state. Also, the Galo People’s Federation (GPF) today congratulated Jomde Ke for being inducted in the cabinet ministry of the state government. The GPF also thanked the chief minister and central leadership for inducting Ke. The panchayat members of Tirap, Changlang and Longding thanked the chief minister for inducting 56-Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh into the state cabinet.
