Three poachers bbed in KNP

KAZIRANGA, October 26: The Army Camp at Bagori received input from local sources about movement of armed extremists in Rongmongwe area in East Karbi Anglong district on October 24.

An area domition patrol with Forest Range Officer KN Deka and a JCO and 12 other ranks was launched at 6 pm in Rongmongwe area. On Tuesday, on a track between villages Sarpo Kathar and Kat Teron, three individuals were seen moving towards Jagadamba Tea Garden with weapon. An opportunity ambush was laid and the group was apprehended. On the spot interrogation and recovery revealed that they were planning to carry out rhino poaching on Tuesday night.

The apprehended persons have been identified as Dhonsing Ronghang (28), son of Ponosing Ronghang, resident of village Bibia Kro under Rongmongwe PS; Bidasing Singr (25), son of  Mujari Singr, resident of Ping Ronghang village under Rongmongwe PS; and Sanjay Terang (20), son of Sarsin Terang, resident of Domroi under Rongmongwe PS.

The security forces recovered a .303 Rifle, one silencer for .303 Rifle, 10 live rounds of .303 Rifle, one axe , one khukuri and one torch from their possession.
