DEMOW, June 24: On Saturday three road mishaps took place in Demow area. According to sources, on Saturday morning Sunaina Singh, a resident of Demow, came out of her house for morning walk when an unidentified vehicle hit her and she died. After sometime near Demow in Naharani in NH-37 road, another road mishap took place where five persons, including a child, were seriously injured. After couple of hours, near Demow in Kachumari in NH-37 road a Maruti Suzuki car and a Yamaha Scooty collided with each other. A student died and three persons were seriously injured. The car was coming from Bokota Patsaku and heading towards Demow Garhbhanga and from the opposite side a Yamaha scooty hit the car at a high speed due to which the scooty rider who was a student of Demow Junior College studying in Higher Secondary second year (Arts) died on the spot and another student who was sitting on the scooty was seriously injured. Minaram Barua, who was driving the Maruti Suzuki car, and Jyotimoyee Barua, wife of Minaram Barua, were seriously injured. After getting primary treatment in Demow Model Hospital, the three injured persons were sent to Assam Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
