Three vehicles laden with illegal timber seized

Bongaigaon, May 24: Following previous information, Chirang district forest department seized three vehicles laden with illegal wood on Tuesday.

The operation was led by Forest Officer Subha Brahma. Talking to media persons, Brahma said that they had seized the three vehicles from NH-31(C). “These three vehicles include one Tata mobile van (AS-19-C5213) laden with teak wood, one Tata Zenon van (AS-19-C-1367) laden with shom wood and one tractor without number plate laden with lali wood. All the logs are worth about Rs 5 lakh and had been brought from Ripu Reserve Forest area of Mas tiol Park near the Indo-Bhutan area,” he said.
