Tiger Cubs Crushed by Train in Maharashtra

Guwahati: Two tiger cubs are found lying crushed under a train in the Junona range of forest in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The dead cubs are recovered dead on Thursday morning.

As reported by Chandrapur Chief Conservator Forest (CCF) Rama Rao, the two cubs are around 8-10 months old. The Forest officer states, “The cubs were said to be about 8-10 month old and were crushed under the Chandrapur-Gondia train. Further details are awaited.”

Apart from the news of these two tiger cubs, the other two cubs that were in news lately were the cubs of Avni, the tigress who was shot dead on November 2 in Pandharkawda. The latest reports state that the two missing cubs of Avni for which the forest officials have been searching day and night are now sighted in a village near the forest. The cubs are seen strolling together near Vihirgaon village.

Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (APCCF) Sunil Limaye said, “Our teams have gone to the spot and we hope to catch them. They were seen walking together, which means they are fine.”
