Timber smuggler bbed in Tangla, logs seized

TANGLA, May 25: The troops of the 37th Bn of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB), Mangaldai stationed at Bongrum along the Indo-Bhutan border of Udalguri district seized a cache of smuggled timber wood during an operation on Tuesday.

The SSB troops succeeded in apprehending one Jhon Daimary (23) in this connection. The youth is a resident of Sangrapara village under Harisinga PS of the district. The seized timber is worth more than Rs 50,000. The seized timber and the youth have been handed over to the forest department.
