tiol Deworming Day on April 4

SHILLONG, March 31: The District Medical and Health Officer, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will observe the tiol Deworming Day (NDD) on  April 4 in the State with an aim to intensify efforts towards eradicating Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH).

The objective of tiol Deworming Day is to deworm all preschool and school-age children between the ages group of 1-19 years through the platform of schools and Anganwadi Centre in order to improve their overall health, nutritiol status, access to education and quality of life.

The NDD will be followed by a mop-up-day (MOD) on the April 8 with the intent of deworming children who missed the dose on April 4.
