tiol Integration Day observed in North Salmara

Abhayapuri, Nov 20: A meeting was held in the conference hall of the SDO (Civil) office for observing the tiol Integration Day, stated a press release.

The meeting was attended by senior citizens, Axam Xahitya Xabha  members, senior Congress leaders and newly-appointed Assistant Commissioners and the meeting was presided over by the SDO (civil) Saranga Pani Sharma. In the meeting Abhayapuri College lecturer Moromi Borthakur gave a lecture on secularism, non-violence and anti -Commulism which was the theme of the programme.

In the programme the one of the members of the senior citizens group said that religious intolerance was increasing in the country. Mixture of politics and religion has made the environment of the country worse. People should calm down and have respect for all religions, he said.

Moromi Borthakur said we should try to cut the roots from where intolerance had evolved. SDO (Civil) said that we should respect all the religions and should emphasize more on development rather than wasting time in fighting with each other. He further condemned whatever happened in Paris and said terrorism was now a big problem and Assam was facing it horribly and people could see the consequences every now and then.
