tiol Unity Day observed at Haflong

Haflong, Oct 31: With rest of the country, to commemorate the 140th Birth Anniversary of Ironman of India Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel and observance of Rastriya Ekta Diwas, the Dima Hasao BJP district committee organised ‘Run for Unity’ here at Haflong today.

The ‘Run for Unity’ led by Chief Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council Niranjan Hojai along with MACs like Subrata Thaosen, Debolal Gorlosa, Thaisodao Thaosen and other BJP leaders started from the Cultural Institute Hall marched through Haflong Synod turning to Veer Sambudhan statue and concluded again in the premises of CIH. This was followed by offering of floral tribute to the portrait of Ironman of India, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Dindayalji and Bharatmata by the CEM, MACs and other BJP leaders and well wishers.

NGOs from Haflong including A Ray of Hope, Art of Living, Green Vision Society, O2 and MaD organised a programme at Haflong Lake to contribute towards tiol unity and integrity. School children from Don Bosco School, Haflong and St Agnes Convent School, Haflong also participated in the event.
