LAKHIMPUR, Jan 25: Along with the other parts of the tion, Lakhimpur Commerce College observed the 8th tiol Voters’ Day on Thursday. Principal of the college, Dr. Bhimsen Behera chaired the meeting which was organized on this occasion. Aban Chandra Barman, the Head of the  Department of Political Science, explained the purpose of the event in which Mril Kanti Mishra, the retired Vice-Principal of the college, participated as the appointed speaker.

He, in his lecture, explained the significance of the tiol Voters’ Day and appealed to the voters of the new generation to be ratiol and judicious with regard to electing public representatives. On the other hand, Professor of Political Science, Kuldip rayan Dutta and Head of the Department of English, Sajjad Hussain took part in the programme as the resource persons. Professor Dutta highlighted the historic background of the day while Hussain emphasized on its importance. Students Mehfuza Ahmed and Pranjal Gogoi also spoke on the occasion. Chairperson Dr. Bhimsen Behera called upon all to take oath to keep the nobility of the franchise.
