Tobacco products burnt

MARGHERITA, Dec 16: Activists of Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP)’s Margherita regiol committee today burnt gutkha and other tobacco products worth Rs 10,000 on NH 38 at Margherita. Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP’s Margherita regiol committee said, “We have given 72-hour ultimatum to Margherita administration and Margherita police to take strict action against the illegal gutkha traders of Margherita area but till today both Margherita administration and Margherita police are in deep slumber. Many gutkha traders in Margherita region have an unholy nexus with Margherita administration and Margherita Police.”

He said that if in the coming days Margherita administration and Margherita Police don’t take any action against the illegal Gutkha and Tobacco traders, them the AJYCP would intensify massive agitation.
