Tamulpur, Feb 2: Tamulpur Mahkuma AASU on Friday took out a torch rally at Tamulpur in protest against the Gauripur incident of Thursday. On Friday evening workers and activists of Tamulpur Anchalik AASU, Dwarkuchi Anchalik AASU, Dakhin Defeli Anchalik AASU and Kumarikata Anchalik AASU gathered in front of the office of Tamulpur Anchalik AASU and took out the torch rally against the attack on AASU office of Gauripur in Dhubri district. The torch rally was iugurated by Chakreswar Deka, ex-president of Tamulpur Anchalik AASU. Chakreswar Deka condemned the Gauripur incident and demanded security to indigenous people of Assam. “Arrest the miscreants, otherwise we will be compelled to agitate,” Deka said. More than 500 AASU activists participated in the protest programme.
