Tourist guide training programme underway in Sivasagar

Joysagar, Jan 12: The Sivasagar District Tourist Department, in collaboration with the district administration, organized a free and special tourist guide training programme in the premises of the Sivasagar Tourist Information office at Barpukhuripar recently.

The special tourist guide training programme was formally iugurated by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwar. In his iugural speech, Konwar said, “Due to language problem and some other behavioural reasons, most of the tourist guides of our region face problems while travelling and guiding tourists. Besides, from February 13 to February 17, the Sivasagar district administration will hold the intertiol Shiva Mahotsava in the historic Shiv Dol of Sivasagar town with the help of the Sivasagar Temple Development Committee. In this intertiol Shiva Mahotsava, foreign tourists from almost 15 countries will come to take part in the festival and they will travel throughout Sivasagar district. Therefore, the State Tourism Department has to provide many well-trained tourist guides to help the tourists. To provide the best training to the tourist guides as well as the educated unemployed youths, the Sivasagar district administration with the help of the tourism department has been conducting a 10-day long free tourist guide training programme.”
