Trademark infringement: FIR filed against trader

Shillong, Oct 10: A complaint has been filed with the police against a trader here for alleged uuthorized usage of trademarks and selling counterfeit consumer goods in the city. According to police, Biplab Ghosh, Operation Mager of Enforcers of Instrumental Property Right lodged a complaint that employees of M/s BC Bros and M/s Wahlang Industries in Police Bazar here have processed and sold spurious HP products, using fake trademark and trade description of the origil brand.

HP cartridges and HP ink-prints were seized from the shops. Meanwhile in the same case Ghosh has also lodged a complaint that employees of the shop belonging to Rosh Philips at Laitumkhrah in Shillong are processing and selling spurious HP products, using fake trademark and trade description of the origil brand. Sixteen fake HP cartridges and ten empty HP cartridges were seized from the shop.
