Traditional Heads Praise C&RD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar

SHILLONG: The Synjuk ki Nongsynshar Shnong Nongthymmai Pyllun (a conglomeration of the Traditional head from Nongthymmai) appraised the C&RD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar to immediately halt all the Gram Sabha which is planned to be placed in many villages to implement the Gram Panchayat Development Plan which is sanctioned by the Department of Panchayati Raj government of India.

The delegation of traditional heads led by President of the Synjuk Bantylli Nari and B. Khyriem Secretary, met the Minister at Meghalaya Secretariat and also submitted a letter of the decision taken by the Synjuk ki Nongsynshar Shnong Nongthymmai Pyllun, Shillong in a meeting which was held on December 11, at Nongrim Hills.

The meeting had discussed the intension of the central government to implement the “My village my Plan” in various villages including areas under Nongthymmai Pyllun.

The Synjuk has also demanded a clarification concerning the Village Development Plan - Gram Panchayat Development Plan because it points to the presence of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj even as the state of Meghalaya has no association with the Panchayati Raj system.
