Traffic Measures Reviewed In Aalo, Arunachal

Itanagar: Traffic regulatory measures to do away with the growing traffic congestion in Aalo, the headquarters of West Siang district was held under the Chairmanship of SDO K Tikhak on Thursday.

The meet decided to start a Tata Sumo terminal at Siang Transport Cooperative Society to avoid rush of people and passengers, an official release informed here Friday.

The area is being developed to accommodate all Tata Sumo with toilet and counter facilities. It has also been decided to keep all commercial vehicles like trucks, tractors, Tata Mobiles, Pick up Vans, buses etc after locating appropriate places in the out skirts of the town.

The timings for loaded trucks and buses have been set for unloading of goods to avoid rush in peak hours. Time has been fixed for loading and unloading before 7am in the morning and after 8pm in the evening to avoid rush and congestion. No Parking zones shall be identified soon to avoid irresponsible parking at will in the township areas.

The representatives from district administration, police, Bazar Secretaries, NGOs, Tata Sumo, Auto and Business Association were present in the meeting to put forth various measures and suggestions, the release added.
