Training programme for NSS volunteers held

Dibrugarh, Sept 5: A training programme for the NSS volunteers of schools and colleges of the district was held at the District Library Auditorium on Monday. The training was organized under the programme ‘Milijuli Hiku Aaha’ for raising the standard of learning of students who performed badly in Gunotsav. Addressing the occasion, ADC Ankur Bhorali called upon NSS volunteers to visit the areas fixed by the administration for increasing education ability of students by taking remedial classes. He urged upon the NSS volunteers to organize separate tutorial classes on the subjects in which the students of primary to secondary level did not do well. Assistant Commissioner Ayush Garg, while calling upon the 160 volunteers from various parts of the district, stated that within the next three months they should put stress on the knowledge of language , reading, writing and numericals under the remedial learning programme.

As a resource person, the programme was attended by Dipen Khanikar and Mohini Mohan Gogoi who in their respective speeches talked about the various initiatives being undertaken to promote the learning environment.
