Training programme for small savings agents

Dibrugarh, June 28: The National Savings Institute, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Guwahati, in coordination with the District Authority, Dibrugarh, conducted a one-day training programme for the small savings agents of the district at the training centre of the DC office on Wednesday.

In the inaugural speech, Ankur Bharali, ADC (Dev), urged the agents to be sincere and put their efforts on small savings collection. He also said that small savings in the post office were very secure and gave good return. The training was provided by Krishna Kumar Pradhan, Regional Director, NSI, Online Sales and Marketing, AML-CFT norms and development in the latest rules and regulation of small savings. He further stated that the collection under small savings in the State during the financial year was Rs 8,792 crore, which was very encouraging.

Around 150 agents attended the training programme. P. Bhattacharjee, president of National Savings Agents Association, India, also graced the occasion and spoke on the welfare of the agents.
