Training programme on book keeping held

SILCHAR, January 10: The DDM, BARD, Cachar in association with NGO, Siddheswar Pragati Sangha organised a one–day training programme on Book Keeping for SHG members and leaders at Jalagram, Cachar district here recently. About 36 SHG members participated in the programme. At the outset, S. th, member of the NGO extended warm welcome to all the participants and set out the objectives of the Training programme. The programme was attended among others by B. Ram, Officer, United Bank of India (UBI), Bhangarpar Branch and Community Resource Person (CRP) under NRLM.

DDM, BARD deliberated in detail the need for formation of SHGs and their proper functioning. He stressed the importance of savings, thrift activities and group dymics in uplifting the standard of living of the people. He also mentioned about the SHG 2 and the various books to be maintained by the groups and clarified the doubts of the group members.

Ram from UBI, Bhangarpar branch gave a brief account on the role and responsibilities of the group members and shared his experience in dealing with various groups. Joya Sinha, CRP, NRLM explained about the maintence of books of accounts and other records. The programme ended with vote of thanks from member of the NGO.
