Silchar, June 17: Around 120 plants which were taken from the DFO office, Silchar, were planted at a plantation camp organized by All Dimasa Students’ Union, Cachar District committee at Khaspur capital complex on Saturday. Thomas Barman, president of All Dimasa Youth Association inaugurated the session. Though, various government and non government organizations have planted trees before but due to lack of fencing, the plants have been eaten by goats and cows. Thomas Barman said that a memorandum would be sent to the Central and the State governments to look into the matter.
Amit Barman, president of All Dimasa Students’ Union, Cachar District committee said that though the valley has potentiality to attract national as well as international tourist but lack of interest on the part of previous governments have not made it possible yet.
