Tripura Assembly’s failure to pay homage to martyrs condemned by BJP

Agartala, Dec 16 : Bharatiya Jata Party came down heavily against the ruling Left Front, Trimool Congress and Congress for their failure to pay homage to two brave soldiers of the state who laid down their life while fighting enemies in Kashmir front recently in the state assembly. Speaker Ramendra Chandra th brought two condolence proposals in the state assembly on Thursday to pay homage to the Cuban legend Fidel Castro and the former Chief Minister of Tamildu J Jaylalita. All the members observed silence and paid homage to deceased leaders. But there was no mention about the BSF jawan Sambhu Satmura and the soldier of the Indian Army Chitta Ranjan Debarma who were martyred while fighting the Pakistani sponsored insurgents in Kashmir. ‘It once again exposed the anti-tiol character of the CPI(M)’, a statement issued by the BJP said. It also criticized the Congress and Trimool Congress members who were present in the house for silently accepting this ignorance to the martyrs.

The BJP workers also took out a protest rally that travelled through the streets of Agartala condemning the ruling party of the state and accused that omission of the two martyr’s me was deliberate. However, the speaker Ramendra Kumar th today tried to correct the mistake and brought two condolence proposals to pay homage to the martyrs Sambhu Satmura and Chitta Ranjan Debbarma. In reply to a query the speaker denied that the mes of two martyrs were dropped deliberately and said it was a mistake on the part of his office.
