Tripura Police arrest two, seize Yaba Tablets worth Rs 3 crore 99 lakh

Agartala: Acting on a tip-off, Tripura police detained two liquor barons, including a large number of banned Yaba tablets.

On Monday in the afternoon hours, police arrested two people and seized Yaba tablets from their possession in the forest area under the Sonamura Police Station of Sephejola District of Tripura state.

The two accused were identified as Amjad Hossain and Iman Hossain.

Hossain is reported to be a resident of Gabtali area of Comilla district in Bangladesh.

Speaking to the media, Police officer Srikant Chakraborty, who is in charge of the operations, said in Kulbari area of his house.

A total of 39900 pieces of yam tablet have been seized from them. The market value of which is said to be 3 crores 99 lakhs. He further said that these two youth tablets were engaged in packing the tablets inside jungle area.

Meanwhile, Police are trying to trace the whereabouts of the smugglers who are being allegedly involved in smuggling these drugs inside the territory of India.

They also trying to find out who else is involved in this connection with the case.

Further investigations are on.
