Tuki rolls development wagon, calls for best service delivery

Itagar, Dec 31: Giving speculations a backseat and rolling his development wagon, Chief Minister bam Tuki took a review meeting with the West Siang district officers here in his office on Wednesday.

Flanked by Home Minister Tanga Byaling, Cooperation Minister Jomde Ke, Parliamentary Secretary Nyamar Karbak, IGP Payeng, DC West Siang Pige Legu and all head of the offices of West Siang district discussed in length on the developmental activities undertaken in the district and the progress made so far.

Adopting zero tolerance towards social sectors like health and education, Tuki called upon the officers to ensure utmost care and dedication while delivering these social sector services to the common denizens, an official communiqué said here today.

He referred to the state flagship programmes in education and health sector like Vidya, Girl Child Hygiene Scheme, CMHUIS etc. and directed the district officers to create maximum awareness amongst the common citizens so that more and more people gets benefits from these benevolent programmes.

The CM categorically directed the DC to engage few renowned NGOs for the purpose so that the plans, policies and programmes of the state government reach every nook and corner of the state.

While responding to the request of DMO for ambulance services, CM agreed in principle to provide ambulance for the district hospital besides assuring to release adequate funds for restoration of power supplies in Kamba and Aalo towns. He appreciated the power department for increase in revenue collection in the district in the current fiscal.

CM took note of the unconnected PD circle under Mechuka sub-division and assured to connect it by surface communication for which he directed the department of PWD to propose a proposal under RIDF. He also called upon the PWD to regularly maintain all district roads which at present is in shabby condition.

He also reviewed the law and order situation of the district.

Participating in the discussion, Home Minister Tanga Byaling informed that a Vikas Rally is being planned at Mechuka on January 11 next and asked all the officers to be prepared.

Similar review meetings are expected to be conducted in regular intervals to ensure developmental activities are taken in the right earnest, the communiqué added.
