Tulsi Gogoi: A tribute

Some incidents of life are though decided by God but many of those incidents are hard to believe. Such an incident was the demise of my grandfather late Tulsi Gogoi on October 26 in 2015 at the age of 75 years. My grandfather, who was the former head of the department of Political Science in Sori College, had served as the president of Congress’ Sivasagar District Committee till the time of his demise. Besides being an honest politician, he was a social worker. He was associated with the establishment of number of social organisations as well as educatiol institutions. He also acted as the chairman of the governing body of Sori College. Not only that, my grandfather was a true philanthropist. Every morning a large number of people used to come to visit him and told him about their worries which he gave patient hearing and tried to help them. He also supported needy and brilliant students. My grandfather was a man of words and determition. For his constructive and humanitarian works, he will always be remembered by common people. His death is a huge loss for us. That his voice will never be heard again, is tough to believe. May his soul rest in peace!
