DIMORIA: The body of an unidentified person (male) was recovered from at Digaru river at Bajranj Digaru Basti under Somapur police station in Kamrup district. The body was clad in a T-shirt and long pant. From the physical features, the Sonapur Police suspect the body of the deceased to be that of a tribal person, probably a Khasi. Presently the body is in the morgue at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati.

Earlier on October 17, the body of a retired Army personnel was found near the railway track at a spot between Tetelia and Khetri railway stations. The deceased has been identified as Havildar Karuna Kanta Deka. The body was witnessed by passers-by in the morning and accordingly, the police were informed. The cause of death is not yet known. The police suspect that he might have fallen off the train Family members have informed that the deceased was on his way from Tripura to Guwahati via Kanchanjangha Express along with his wife. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem to Morigaon Civil Hospital by the Railway Police.
