Two-day training programme for legal services lawyers begins

Golaghat, July 15: A two-day training programme for legal services lawyers of Zone-I districts comprising Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat, organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Golaghat under the aegis of Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA), began at the District Library Auditorium on Saturday.
 The programme meant for DLSA empanelled lawyers, is being attended by judges of Gauhati High Court, judicial officers and advocates of several districts. 
 Delivering the keynote address, Justice Hrishikesh Roy of Gauhati High Court and Executive chairman of ASLSA, asked all the empanelled lawyers to strive to achieve their utmost potential and provide legal services to the poor and needy who could not afford to pay fees.
 Senior advocates of Gauhati High Court like Anshuman Bora, Dilip Mazumdar and Manish Chowdhury are the resource persons for the business session of the training programme. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sivasagar, Roshan Lal and Deputy Secretary, ASLSA, MK Saikia will conduct business sessions on the second day of the training.
 Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, judge, Gauhati High Court, District and Sessions Judge, Golaghat, S Khound, AJS, secretary, DLSA, Golaghat, Joydev Koch and other senior officials were also present at the iugural session on Saturday.
