Two Forest Guards injured in Gunfight with Poachers at East Karbi Anglong District

Samuguri: Sensation prevailed in the border areas of Nagaon and Karbi Anglong forest range after a gunfight broke out between the forest guards and alleged illegal poachers at Parkup Pahar of East Karbi Anglong District on Monday night.

As per reports, two forest guards identified as Don Borah and Alok Mitra received major injuries during the gunfight.

The two courageous forest guards continued their fight with the alleged poachers and recovered two guns and four round live ammunitions including some explosives from their possession.

Eyewitnesses also claimed that the two forest guards were allegedly attacked by the suspected poachers with sharp weapons. Later, the three poachers managed to escape from the spot.

Meanwhile, the injured forest guards are undergoing treatment at a nearby Hospital.
