Two girls rescued, one held

DEMOW, June 3: The Sopur Social Development Society, an NGO, with the help of Demow Police rescued two girls of Kharahat Masoi Gaon from a human trafficker in Sivasagar district from Demow Kharahat Train Station on Friday night. According to sources, on Friday night a human trafficker was preparing to take the two girls aged 15-16 years to Kharahat Train Station and from there by train they were preparing to take them to Kolkata. Sanjay Prasad Sah, president of Sopur Social Development Society, an NGO, got the information and with the help of Demow Police caught the trafficker Bitu Tanti, a resident of Krish Bihari Tea Estate from Kharahat Train Station. Tanti is in Demow Police custody.
