Two Hardcore cadres of NSCN (IM) apprehended in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: A self-styled private and overground worker of the NSCN (IM) militant outfit were apprehended by Longding battalion, under Dao Division Arunachal Pradesh.

The arrested NSCN(IM) cadres have been identified as Akham Wangsu (self-styled private) and Banchoi Wangpon (OGW).

Extortion notes along with other incriminating evidence were recovered from the duo.

On questioning, they admitted to being an active part of the banned outfit and being actively involved in extortion activities in Longding district on behalf of Jante Josham, Self Styled Major of NSCN(IM).

Akham Wangsu further confessed to having joined the group in 2006 and having undergone basic training at Hebron camp in Nagaland.

Earlier, he was apprehended in 2017 in Longding and has been on bail since July 2018.

It may be mentioned that Longding battalion under the aegis of DAO DIVISION has been carrying out relentless operations in south Arunachal Pradesh to keep the area peaceful and out of clutches of insurgents and this apprehension will go a long way in creating fear among the anti-national elements in the area.
