Two hurt in road mishap

GAURISAGAR, May 23: Two persons were injured, one critical, in a pathetic road mishap that took place at Jhanji under Gaurisagar Police Station in Sivasagar district on NH-37 on Wednesday morning.

According to witnesses, a Hyundai i10 car bearing registration no AS-03-G-8372 coming from Sivasagar forcibly hit a scooty (AS-03-R-0018) coming from the opposite direction. Gaurisankar Saikia, a resident of Jhanji Bamun Pukhuri Bora Gaon under Jorhat district and the one who was driving the car, was seriously injured. The owner of the car, Prasurjya Goswami, a resident of Dikhowmukh Dhonekhowa village under Sivasagar district, also sustained injuries. Both the injured persons had been shifted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
