Two killed in separate accidents

Rangia, Feb 8: Bohar Ali (58), a local businessman, died on the spot at village  Ulubari  near Rangia when the bicycle he was riding was run over by a stone-laden truck (AS- 14- 6987) on Tuesday night. Irate public of the locality vandalized the truck and later blocked the Rangia-Goreswar road for hours with the body. They also demanded urgent repair of the road, Rs 10 lakh compensation to the victim’s family and employment to the victim’s family members. A memorandum was submitted to the SDO civil of Tamulpur later, who after assuring proper action, brought the situation under control.  In a separate incident, a female aged around 39 years  was run over by a goods train at Railway Gate near Rangia College when she was trying to cross the rail line. The woman was identified as Rupali masudra, wife of Lakhi masudra of village Barmura under Rangia PS. Later she succumbed to her injuries.
