Two Nagaland Women to represent India's Sepaktakraw Team at Asiad 2018

Kohima: Two Nagaland women have been selected to represent India at the Asian Games to be held in Indonesia's capital Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2.

The Nagaland women- Jwensinle Kesen and Puleno Neikha will be part of the Indian Sepaktakraw team.

Jwensinle Kesen is the daughter of Nyenlo Kesen from Phenshenyu village in Tseminyu sub-division. She is a product of the State Sports Girls’ Hostel in Dimapur. Kesen is currently serving as a constable in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Neikha is a Sepaktakraw Instructor under Department of Youth Resources and Sports Nagaland and will lead the Indian Speaktakraw team as the coach.

Viseyie Koso was the first Naga sportsman to represent India at the Asian Games held in China in 2010. At the 17th Asian Games in 2014 in Korea, Koso and Keneileno Nakhro along with Nagaland Sepaktakraw coach, Holshe Khrieo represented the Indian Sepaktakraw team.

Naga Olympian Chekrovolu Swuro had represented India in the 14th and 15th Asian Games at Busan and Doha.

“It is indeed a proud matter that our state sportspersons have consistently been representing our country at the Asian Games,” Nagaland Sepaktakraw Association Secretary General, Holshe Khrieo said.
