Two NDFB(S), one MTFA rebels bbed

GUWAHATI, Aug 9: Army and police in a joint operation apprehended two tiol Democratic Front of Bodoland—Songbijit (NDFB-S) rebel on Friday in Chirang district.

Army sources said based on specific intelligence input, Army and Assam Police launched an operation in Chirang district in the late hours of Friday and in the operation, two terrorists two NDFB (S) rebels  were apprehended.

The detrained  rebels were identified as Philip Basumatary alias B Phangkha, a 38th batch trained cadre and Bipin Brahma alias B Bindw, a 40th batch trained cadre, sources said.

One 7.62mm pistol, some ammunition, one grede and other war like stores were recovered from the rebels. Both the militants are known to be part of the close group of Bidai, the  NDFB (S) deputy president, who was responsible for the December Adivasi carge in Assam. Similarly, Army and Assam Police launched an operation near Fakiragram in Kokrajhar district, in the wee hours today and during the operation, one Muslim Tiger Force of Assam (MTFA) militant was apprehended. The bbed rebel was identified as Mominur Ali. A pistol and some ammunition were recovered from him.
