Two persons convicted in separate cases

KOKRAJHAR, March 1: The Session Judge of Kokrajhar, PK Das, held Alongbar Mushahary guilty under section 302, IPC and ordered him to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and fine of Rs. 5000, and in default further simple imprisonment for three months, in Session Case No-25/2016 in the matter of State vs. Alongbar Mushahary, on Wednesday.

The case was registered on June 30, 2016 on the basis of an FIR lodged by the victim’s wife at Kachugaon Police Station stating that on June 30, 2016 at about 8 pm, Mushahary murdered her husband with an axe. Police registered a case against the accused and following investigation, charge-sheeted the accused mentioned in the FIR under Section 302 of IPC. The prosecution examined as many as seven witnesses in this case.

On the other hand, the Session Judge also held the accused Anta Debth guilty under Section 364-A IPC and ordered to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and fine of Rs 5000, and in default further simple imprisonment for three months, in Session Case No-33/2016 in the matter of State vs. Anta Debth and Others, on Wednesday. The case was registered on 17.07.2015 on the basis of FIR lodged by the victim’s father at Kokrajhar Police Station stating that on 17.07.2015, accused Anta Debth kidpped his son for ransom. Police registered a case against the accused and following investigation, charge-sheeted the accused mentioned in the FIR. The prosecution also examined as many as seven witnesses in this case.
