Two ultras killed at Shalibhui

DHUBRI, September 28:  In a joint operation, Assam Police and Indian Army killed two ultras at  Shalibhui area  under  Mankachar police station along the Assam- Meghalaya  border  on Monday  morning . “A patrol of joint security forces was carried out on getting information from reliable sources and when the security forces reached the Shalibhui area, a group of 6-7 ultras started firing at the security forces. The joint operation team retaliated, killing two ultras and others escaped,” said Mankachar Superintendent of Police, Harekrish th. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain ultras. The ultras have not been identified but are suspected to be GNLA cadres who had allegedly come for collection of extortion money, sources said.
