Two youths killed in road mishap

Tamulpur, June 15: Two youths were killed in a road mishap on Wednesday night at Panitenki village on Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan international link road under Kumarikata police outpost in the district of Baksa.

The deceased persons were identified as Purna Narzary (25), son of Rothin Narzary, and Arjun Basumatary (29), son of Haren Basumatry, of village Sonalipara under Bogajuli forest reserve in the district of Baksa. Both the youths were coming towards Kumarikata from Darrangamela on a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number AS-01-BQ- 3958 and when they reached Panitangki, their motorcycle lost control and turned turtle.

One youth died on the spot. Local people shifted the other youth to Kumarikata State Dispensary where the doctor declared him dead. Munna Pasoni, in-charge of Kumarikata police outpost, reached the spot and recovered the body. The bodies were sent for post-mortem to Mushalpur on Thursday. Police are investigating the matter. Local people suspect that due to overspeeding the accident took place.
