UALA cadres bbed

SHILLONG, Jan 30: On the night of January 29, at around 9:20pm army personnel of camp Baida on a tip off provided by Tikrikila police apprehended two UALA cadres. The arrested cadres have been identified as, Bith M Sangma of Bolchugre village, under Ampati and Jingson B Marak, of Katonggre village, Tikrikilla. They were apprehended along with one 9mm factory made pistol with magazine and two rounds of 9mm live ammunition, one 9mm country made single shot pistol, four sim cards, one ID card of UALA of Bith M Sangma, two mobile hand sets, one bike (ML 07 A 0584). Police said that the duo have been forwarded to court. It may be mentioned that in December last year the UALA signed a peace pact with the Meghalaya government. Meanwhile police also said that gunpowder, percussion caps, lead pellets and other implements of gun making were found during search of Gendupara village in Jengjal on Friday. Two persons have been arrested in instant case.
