Udalguri boxers for East Zone Boxing Championship

TANGLA: Four amateur boxers of Udalguri district undergoing coaching at the Dhaneswar Basumatary Boxing Training Centre in the heart of Udalguri town have qualified for the forthcoming East Zone Boxing Championship being organised by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).

Informing this, Dhaneswar Basumatary, chief coach of the boxing training centre said that Hiranya Boro (48kg)-boy and three girl boxers Saya Brahma (42kg), Errica Basumatary (46kg) and Lovely Daimari (30kg) of his training centre were selected on March 17 last at a selection camp at SAI, Guwahati which was organised by the Assam Amateur Boxing Association for the championship where boxers from Meghalaya, Sikkim and West Bengal will take part besides Assam which will be held at Golaghat from March 24 to 27.
