UDJU organizes media workshop in Udalguri

UDALGURI, November 29: The Udalguri District Jourlist Union (UDJU) organized a media workshop and discussed various problems, issues and new trends in jourlism here at Udalguri.

The workshop was iugurated by Sadha Hojai, Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri and she appraised the efforts of Udalguri District Jourlist Union. Media persons from across the district participated in this workshop. Tridip Daimari, BTC speaker, assured to help the media fraternity to resolve their problems and urged them to work positively to meet the people’s expectations in the region.

Dr. Luke Daimary, the Principal of Udalguri College also addressed the meeting. In this meeting the former Deputy Commissioner and present secretary of Elementary Education, Assam, was given a warm felicitation by the media fraternity. Addressing the workshop, he appealed to media persons to work with self-criticism. Diganta Patowary, the Chief of Bureau of The Hindustan Times, spoke about the present trends and need of jourlism.

The Hemchandra Talukdar Memorial Jourlism Award was presented to Bapan Sarma by Gautam Jyoti  Talukdar. The award is annually given by Gautam Jyoti Talukdar in fond memory of his jourlist father. Baidyath Upadhyaya  and Arup Barua also discussed about the problems of local media persons as appointed resource persons.
