ULFA (I) linkman nabbed

Dibrugarh, June 27: The 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles apprehended an alleged linkman of ULFA (I) on June 25. Based on inputs from its sources, the Army launched an operation in the general area Lahoal, following which the accused was taken into custody. The alleged linkman has been identified as Pradeep Konwar, a resident of of Ghaspura village under Moran police station. A 3.2 mm pistol, one magazine with three live rounds and one mobile phone with two SIM cards were recovered from Konwar near Lahoal.

Konwar divulged that he had faced jail sentences on four occasions previously. Nevertheless, after preliminary investigation and medical check-up, the accused was handed over to Lahoal Police Station, where an FIR was lodged.
